Cycle for Cynthia 2020
Cycle for Cynthia
The Cynthia Spencer Hospice is a charity that’s extremely close to our hearts; it is where Tom’s mum Adele, who has motivated and inspired so, so much of what we do, spent her precious last hours with her family.
Last year a dozen of our epic team took on 25 and 50-miles routes around the Northamptonshire countryside, overcoming the highs and lows of some brutal hills to raise just over £7000!
This year, a several of our intrepid team will once again be squeezing themselves into lycra and setting off to cover hundreds of miles between them to help raise valuable funds for the hospice for the second year in a row. Unlike last year's event that was held locally, this year's it will all be achieved remotely to ensure everyone stays as safe as possible.
Like so many charities, the hospice has been hit incredibly hard financially this year, with almost all fundraising events cancelled due to the on-going pandemic. This means that this year, more than ever, the hospice desperately our help to continue to provide the wonderful care and support to so many families.
A 24-hour stay at the hospice for patients and their families, where they’re provided with amazing care, compassion and support, currently costs a whopping £504. As a team we are looking to raise enough money to cover at least a whole week’s stay, meaning we need to raise £3528!
Whilst a couple of our team may fancy themselves as a budding Chris Boardman, most are getting back in the saddle for the first time since last year’s event! They will also be flying solo on the day, making the challenge even tougher, so any words of support or donations towards our target will be massively appreciated and will provide a hug boost to the team!
